Patricia L. Keenan's Obituary
Patricia Lou (Allton) Keenan passed away at her home in Glenpool, OK on April 5, 2018. Pat was born at the Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa, OK on June 9, 1941. She lived in Jenks, OK and graduated from Jenks High School in 1959. Pat attended Oklahoma University for one year then returned to Jenks and worked for Midcontinent Insurance in Tulsa until her enlistment in the United States Navy. While in the Navy she was stationed at Bainbridge, MD and Barbers Point, Oahu, HI. Pat served for 3 years and 4 months and received an honorable discharge. She then returned to Jenks, attended Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, OK, and received a BS in Journalism. Pat then went to work as a Field Director for the American Red Cross and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Frankford, Germany and Fulda Germany. She then returned home to Jenks where she was employed as a Local Veteran Employment Representative for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission until her retirement. While employed by the OESC she enlisted in the Oklahoma Air National Guard at Tulsa and served honorably for 4 years. Patricia married Don Keenan on September 1, 1985 in Muskogee, OK. They were together for 32 years, 7 months.Patricia was born to Samuel D. Allton and Tessie E. (Rust) Allton who preceded her in death. She is survived by husband Don Keenan, his two children Don Keenan II of Wichita, KS and Ann (Keenan) Conner of Glenpool, OK, Ann’s 3 children, a sister Carol (Allton) Merrell of Oklahoma City, OK, and a brother Samuel Allton, Jr. of Jenks, OK, and his 2 children.Viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 and family will greet friends that evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at River Oaks Christian Church in Jenks with Pastor Harold Phillips officiating.
