Patricia Ann Marks' Obituary
Patricia Ann Marks nee Thompson passed away March 11, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born March 12, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The daughter of George Westley and Lucille Agnes Thompson. Pat grew up in Tulsa attending public schools and graduated with high academic honors from the University of Tulsa receiving a teaching degree majoring in languages with a major in Spanish. She received her Masters Degree from Tulsa University with emphasis in the teaching of the Spanish Language in the public schools of Tulsa Ok for 29 years. She married William Summers in 1957 who was deceased at an early age. Daughters Julia Ann Summers and Laura Leigh Walton were born to this union. Her grandchildren are: Rachel, Rebecca, Hayley and Will Walton who reside in Bartlesville, OK. Pat was remarried to Robert L. Marks in June 1984. He was a widower with one son Robert Lynn Marks who, with his wife are parents of twin grand-sons. They live in Belton, Missouri. Pat and Robert continued their public teaching careers until 1986. They have since retirement, traveled extensively in the United States, Hawaii, and parts of Europe. For a number of years Pat served as a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church. She and husband, Robert joined Asbury Methodist Church in 1987 and have been members of the Happy Christian Sunday School Class since. As a girl, Pat was a member of the Camp Fire Girls organization and continued for several years as an adult participant in that organization. She also served as the National Patriotic Instructor in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Pat was also a member in the National Mended Heart Association for a number of years.
