Patsy n I became close friends while we were in the fourth grade, enrolled at the Assumption Convent in Manila, Philippines. Somehow we were also seat mates all throughout elementary n high school. We both continued our college days at the same school. We went our different ways upon graduation n in 1968 we connected once again when I discovered she was living in San Francisco (two streets apart). Actually we both were taking the same bus to go to work. From then on our friendships never drifted. She was at the hospital for the birth of my daughter, and visited us at our home every afternoon after work. She told me after the birth of my daughter, “I have to be her Godmother”. And that she was. She did the legwork n research for the proper spelling of my daughter’s name, (Chemaine). She married Art n moved to Connecticut while we moved to Michigan. Our conversations n friendship never ended. We visited them often and they visited us as well. Ric n I will miss her as we have missed Art when he passed. She is lovingly remembered by our entire family n called by our children “Tita Patsy.” Nicole, we feel you have been an Angel in the care of your Mother. You are so loved by all of us.
