Patricia Parker's Obituary
Patricia Joan Meyer Parker departed this life on February 14, 2019 into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ and her loving husband Jerald after a brave battle with cancer. “Pat” was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 19, 1933 to Charles and Adeline Meyer who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Betty, Dorothy and Charlesetta and survived by her brother Charlie. Pat attended Cleveland High School, in St. Louis and was a member of Job’s Daughters where she was named the Job’s Daughter Queen in her senior year of high school. After high school she moved to Tulsa to work at McDonnell Douglas and it was in Tulsa that she met Jerald on a blind date.Pat and Jerald were married in Tulsa and it is here that they raised their four children, Greg, Jerry, Eric and Cindy. Pat was a stay at home mom until her youngest started school at which time, she began volunteering at Waite Phillips Elementary School in the “High Challenge” program. She continued her volunteer work with the school for many years until she accepted a job at Sears in the automotive department. Pat worked her way up to the Auto Center Manager and continued to work for the company for over 30 years until her retirement.After retirement Pat began volunteering with Meals on Wheels and at the Ronald McDonald House in Tulsa. She loved helping the families utilizing the services provided by the Ronald McDonald House and continued her volunteer work up until the time of her death. Pat also was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving on many committees. Pat loved to cook and was always trying out new recipes for her family and friends.Pat is survived by her four children, Greg and wife Tammy (Broken Arrow), Jerry (Atlanta), Eric and wife Connie (Tulsa), and her daughter Cindy Smith and husband Mickey (Edmond). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Zach, Sam, David and Madison and two great grandchildren, Addie and Ava as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald house in her memory.
