Patrick Hunton's Obituary
Patrick Hunton, 65 of Claremore, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born November 12, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a son of Herchell Dean Hunton and Rose Darlene Perkins Moody. Patrick married the love of his life, Tracey Ellen Bond Hunton on May 17th, 1985 in Miami, Oklahoma.Pat had a passion for music, sports and family. Whether it was his daughters, grandsons, nieces or nephews, there wasn’t a performance or game that was missed if he could help it. Pat spent his high school years playing lead guitar and singing in the band The Blu Mods, putting on dances at the Rolling Hills Fire Department and surrounding areas. Winning the battle of the Kings in 1968 was a highlight of that time in his life. Pat loved OU Football, the Dallas Cowboys and OKC Thunder and enjoyed watching them play. He also played soccer, softball, volleyball and bowled which he received a 300 ring for bowling a perfect game. Pat spent many years working in the press box announcing and running the clock for the Catoosa Indians High School and Jr. High football and basketball teams. He was known as “The Voice” of the Catoosa youth football 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teams. Pat also coached soccer teams in Catoosa and Verdigris and was a referee for both clubs. He coached the Verdigris High School Bowling Team for several years, winning the conference every year but one and qualifying for state one year. Pat never met a stranger, and touched the lives of many people. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Tracey Ellen Hunton of the home, daughter Heather Parker, husband Tim and grandsons TJ and Vincent of Inola, OK and daughter Haley Hunton of the home. Father Herchell Hunton of Elkhart, IN, mother Darlene Moody of Claremore, OK and brother Mike Hunton and wife Beth of Elkhart, IN. Nieces, Layla Hunton, Donna Ray and husband Otto of Bloomington, IN and nephew Josh Hunton of New York City, NY. Sister in laws, Patty Fox of Catoosa, OK, Vicki Robbins and husband George of Langley, OK, Jody Scarbrough and husband Joe of Fort Gibson, OK. Nephews Bryon and KC Fox, Keith Robbins and wife Christy, David Rice and wife Amy, Josh Rice and wife Brittany, Ben Scarbrough and niece Jamie Robbins and husband Kreg. He had several great nieces and nephews that called him Papa Pat, Alexis, Checotah, Taylor, Roper, Cash, Harley Jo, Jacob, Chance, Blake, Cameron, Vanessa, Bailey, Avery, David Dillon, Ali Jo, Dresden, Daxton, Holger, Rory and Thea. Two great great nephews Rowdy and Kanaan. God children Christina and Carmen Fugate and Christopher and Kayla Harding.Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Rolling Hills, 19529 E 4th Pl, Tulsa, OK 74108 with Pastor David Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Last Supper in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Porta Caeli House, 2440 N.
