Patrick Jones' Obituary
M. Patrick Jones
M. Patrick Jones, son of the late Palice and Horace Jones, was born on September 19, 1954, in Port Chester, New York. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the age of 71.
Patrick graduated from high school in Port Chester, New York, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University. He furthered his spiritual education as a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow and the School of the Local Church in Tulsa, OK. He subsequently received his license for ministry.
Pat was an architect by trade and was especially gifted in design and drawing. Over the years, he also served in both ministerial and secular roles. While living in upstate New York, he served as a praise and worship leader at a local church in Oneonta, NY where he met his wife, Susan. He was actively involved in the church community, teaching junior high Sunday school and working closely with youth.
Throughout his life, Pat led numerous Bible studies and was instrumental in guiding many in their walk of faith. He offered counsel during times of crisis and had a deep commitment to teaching others the Word of God.
He married Susan in 1992, and shortly thereafter they moved from Unadilla, New York to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and eventually settled in Broken Arrow, where he resided for the remainder of his life. During this time, he worked with Dale Carnegie as a classroom instructor and Fred Pryor Seminars as a national seminar leader, before transitioning into the insurance industry, where he remained for the rest of his career. Over the years, he received numerous accolades in recognition of his professionalism, hard work, and contributions.
Patrick loved people deeply. His motivation and mission in life were to inspire others to recognize their God-given gifts and potential. He desired nothing more than for others to truly live life—and live it more abundantly—according to God’s promises.
Patrick was gifted in many areas. He had an anointed singing voice yet remained humble about it. He possessed a true gift of encouragement, and anyone who knew him recognized what a thoughtful and attentive listener he was. He consistently pointed others to the Word of God for guidance, comfort, and inspiration.
Pat was a devoted, lifelong fan of the New York Giants, faithfully supporting them through every season, regardless of their record. His cats were far more than pets; they were cherished members of his family, each holding a unique and special place in his heart.
He was also committed to the work of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. His only mission trip took him to Russia, an experience that held special meaning for him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Susan Jones; his sister, Dolores Perry of Greenwich, Connecticut; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Fessenden of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his niece, Dana Perry of New Haven, Connecticut; and his nephew, Donald Perry Jr. of Stamford, Connecticut.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Pamela (Kirk) Batroff of Canton, Georgia; Jill Hathaway of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Suzanne Fessenden of Binghamton, New York.
On his wife’s side, he is also survived by nephews Andrew (Kayla) Fessenden of South Carolina; Tyler Hathaway of Pennsylvania; and nieces Meghan Hathaway of Colorado, Brittney (Eric) Jarvis of Georgia, Valene (Roger) Marin of Delaware, Kelly (Stephen) Diaz of Florida, and Rachel Hall of Georgia. He is further survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Additionally, Patrick is also survived by the Figler Family whom he embraced as his own. His love and devotion to Tammy, Destinee, and Mackenzie over the last 20 years were a meaningful and cherished part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Palice and Horace Jones; his father-in-law, Douglas Fessenden of Endicott, NY and his brothers-in-law, Donald Perry, Sr. of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Stephen Fessenden of Binghamton, New York, as well as his brother Eugene Horace.
