Patsy Jean Hannaford's Obituary
Patsy Jean Hannaford, 86, Homemaker, passed away Saturday, February 8th, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Patsy was born May 24th, 1933 in Pryor, Oklahoma to parents Clarence and Florence Waybourn.
Patsy attended and graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, class of ‘52. She married her high school sweetheart, soulmate, and best friend Roy Jene “Bud” Hannaford on June 20th, 1952 at her parents’ home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Although primarily, Patsy will be remembered as a devoted mother, wife, and homemaker, she did find employment working as a secretary while her husband attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Upon receiving his degree, Patsy hung up her work shoes and turned her attention on creating a warm and loving home for her family.
Patsy and Bud were blessed with 3 wonderful children, Roy Jr, Carol, and Greg. They were everything Patsy had ever dreamed of and she truly felt blessed. She had always loved babies and children and to have three of her own filled her heart.
When Patsy found free time, you would inevitably find her shopping. She had a keen eye for the best sales,especially when it came to shoes, clothes, jewelry, and anything purple! Patsy could have had an amazing career as a home decorator! She had an innate ability to coordinate colors, accents and furniture to freshen up a room. Patsy also had an eye for fashion. You would never find her in a pair of sweats! She always dressed with dignity and style wherever she went and many have said she always looked like a movie star!
Patsy had no regrets and was known to have said that she had been everywhere, seen everything, and did everything that she wanted to do. Patsy was a high school and city park champion Ping Pong player as well as an avid bowler.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife to Bud, whom she had an amazing 67 years of marriage filled with unbelievable joy, love, and adventure, loving mother to Roy Jr., Carol, and Greg, and an adoring grandmother and great grandmother.
She will be missed by all those who loved her and whom she loved in return.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Florence Waybourn; sister Barbara Giffin.
Survived by her husband Roy “Bud” Hannaford; son RoyJene (Eileen) Hannaford of Frisco, Texas, daughter Carol (Jack) McBroom of Council Hill, Oklahoma, son Greg (Shelly) Hannaford of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandson Shane (Kelly) Hannaford of McKinney, Texas, grandson Justin (Melissa) Culp of Derby, Kansas, grandson Adam (Morgan) Hannaford of Tulsa, Oklahoma, granddaughter Amanda (Erik) Teece of Rogers, Arkansas, grandson Scott (Simone) Hannaford of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grandson Jackie Lee (Cary) McBroom of Great Falls, Montana; great granddaughters Jaci McBroom, Joscelyn Meadors, Belle McBroom, Landrey Culp, Charlotte Hannaford, and Elaina Teece; great grandsons Trey Stach, Marshall Hannaford, Jayme Ray McBroom, Gavin Teece, Grayson Hannaford, Griffin Hannaford, Cole Hannaford, and Mickey Hannaford; brother Billy Waybourn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Brother in Law Jack Giffin of Tulsa; nephews Rush (Chris) Giffin of Arlington, Texas, and Andy (Abby) Giffin of Bentonville, Arkansas; niece Gina (Tim) Cook of Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as many, many friends she considered as close as family.
