PAUL JACKSON KNIGHTPaul was born on March 6, 1925 and passed from this earth on July 1, 2014, he was 89 years old. Ancil and Blanche Knight brought their son Paul into this world in the town of West Union, in Doddridge County, West Virginia on March 6, 1925.Paul was the youngest of three children, he had an older brother Warner and an older sister Janelle, both preceded Paul’s passing.Paul’s family migrated to the Texas / Oklahoma oil fields when he was a child. Paul went to several different schools growing up as his Dad and family followed the oil boom work.Paul enlisted in the Navy on 5/27/1943 and was Honorably Discharged on 4/22/1946, at the rank of an Aviation Machinist Mate, Second Class. During his tour in the Navy, he was assigned and served on the USS Canberra, a heavy cruiser during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal, World War II and the American Campaign Medal. His tenure in the Navy sparked his passion for airplanes and aeronautical mechanics.Paul moved to the Stillwater, Oklahoma area after getting out of the Navy. This where he met Alice Lavita Clapp his future wife. Paul and Alice were married in Eureka Springs Arkansas on July 4, 1952.Paul and Alice moved to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. Paul went to work for American Airlines as an airplane mechanic, fueling his passion from the Navy. There they raised their son Terry.Paul’s wife Alice passed from this earth on February 12, 1981.Paul decided to take early retirement from American Airlines in 1983, after 32 years of faithful service. He retired as a Crew Chief over the Jet Engine Test Cell in Tulsa for American Airlines.Paul was a great Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and loved his family dearly. He loved to joke with everyone and always brought smiles to anyone who knew him.Paul lived a very long and fruitful life and is survived by: His son: Terry Knight His Granddaughter: Stephanie Terra Knight His Great Granddaughter: Harper Maia Alice Knight His Great Grandson: Aiden Wyatt KnightHe will surely be missed by his Family and Friends, but will never be forgotten.Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, July 6th, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 7th, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow.
