Paula Jane Bounds' Obituary
Paula Jane (Fite) Bounds passed peacefully on December 25 in Colorado Springs, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie Eunice Fite and Paul Fite; her sister, Marjorie Ann (Fite) Shellhorn; and her son, Steven Lawrence Bounds. Paula is survived by nephew Bret Shellhorn (Suzanne); niece Dee Ann Long (Mike); niece Kim Mamrosh (Rich); and several great nephews and nieces, and also several Fite cousins. Paula is also survived by granddaughter Tara Walker (John); grandson Todd Bounds; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Paula was best remembered for her immense talent as a child prodigy on the violin. At 14 years old, she played with the St. Louis Philharmonic with her father, Paul Fite, on Sunday afternoons. Paula was the valedictorian of her high school class in Webb City, Missouri. She enjoyed being active in church and Girl Scouts. She was an accomplished musician who also played the flute. While young, Paula entered several local beauty contests and was Miss Saint Patrick’s Day. Later in life, Paula traveled the world taking 52 trips and even living in an apartment one summer in Spain. She often said her favorite place to visit was Monet’s Garden in France. Paula had a love affair with the camera, and could turn on the charm with the most irresistible smile when taking a photo. She enjoyed jazz concerts, symphonies, and wine tastings.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 12:30 PM, Friday, January 05, 2024, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
