Paula Rutledge's Obituary
Paula Sue Rutledge, 70 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, July 7, 2019 in a Tulsa hospital with her family by her side. She was born August 17, 1948 in Miami, Oklahoma to her parents, Paul Whitmore and Dottie Lou Offutt Whitmore, who preceded her in death along with her maternal grandparents Tommy and Edna Mae Offutt. In 2008, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 17 years, Reuben Rutledge. She held his children, her stepchildren Andrea Rutledge Bundy and Ryan Rutledge and their beautiful families in high esteem and love.Paula is survived by her son, Cade Dareing and his wife Mandy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Isaac, Jacob and Samuel Dareing all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and many friends, including her best, lifelong friend since eighth grade Bonnie Gilmore Schalk, who was by her side at her passing, and extended family members.After earning her Associates Degree in Social Sciences at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, she served as a Social Case Worker for the State of Oklahoma many years before medically retiring. She was often called “Snow White” because she always fed the local wildlife and birds living in or near her properties. She laughed often, always had a smile on her face, was an avid historical fiction reader, loved old black and white movies, and made every event special and memorable. Last, but not least, she was the biggest Sooners football fan. Boomer!There are no scheduled services at this time. The family will hold a small, private memorial at a later date, as she wished.
