In Loving Memory of Paula Kathleen "PK" Skidmore
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paula Kathleen Skidmore, lovingly known as "PK", born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 12, 1951, and departed this world from Tulsa on January 18, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. PK touched the lives of many with her incredible spirit. She will be forever missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
PK was born to parents Elmore Jacobs Bailey and Hazel Marie (King) Bailey in Tulsa. She was an incredibly bold and extroverted individual who never met a stranger, even from childhood. PK was always open to taking on any adventure that would come her way.
Growing up in Tulsa, PK's vibrant personality made her the center of attention wherever she went. In her first marriage to Randall Rakes, she embraced various locations, living in places like: Hawaii, El Paso Texas, Lubbock Texas, Tacoma Washington, and even Germany. Despite their separation, PK and Randall remained friends throughout the years.
On December 20, 1985, PK married the love of her life, James "Jim" Howard Skidmore, with whom she shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they embarked on numerous adventures, traveling to places such as California, Alaska, Maryland, and Finland. PK’s bold spirit and love for life will be fondly remembered, and she will be forever missed by those whose lives she touched.
PK is preceded in death by her parents, Elmore Jacobs Bailey, and Hazel Marie (King) Bailey. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Skidmore, son Cable Rakes and partner Michele, son Clayton Rakes, stepson Charley Skidmore and wife Terri as well as stepdaughter Shelleyanne (Skidmore) Rushin and husband Michael. PK leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Ashlie Skidmore Rushin, Annika Rakes, Kimberly Scott, CJ Skidmore Rushin, James K. Skidmore, and Simon Rakes.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at Floral Haven Funeral Home: 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
Anyone wishing to send flowers may do so by ordering through our website or by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any other florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for PK's visitation.
A funeral service to honor the life of PK will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Father Bryan Brooks officiating.

A reception will follow immediately after the chapel service concludes at Saint Benedict's Catholic Church, located at 2200 W Ithica St, Broken Arrow, OK 74012. PK's family would like to warmly extend an invitation to anyone wishing to attend the reception in order to continue in fellowship and sharing of memories. Please make sure to enter through the north entrance of Saint Benedict's for the reception.
