Peggy Willis' Obituary
Peggy Lou Willis, 93 of Tulsa, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 3, 2019 at her residence with family at her side. She was born February 23, 1926 in Salem, Missouri to her parents, Claude Cheatum and Lura Priscilla Fife Cheatum. She married Donald Willis on August 28, 1947.Peggy is survived by three daughters, Jane Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Sue Perrin and her husband Dave of Sarasota, Florida and Marty Welty and her husband Robert of Paso Robles, California; one son, Steve Willis of McPherson, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Charlotte, Jessica, Sonia, Tadlee, Lynn and Brian; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jeanne Cheatum of Vista, California; her aunt, LeEtta Kramer of Topeka, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lura Cheatum; her husband, Donald Willis; her brother, Robert Cheatum; and her son-in-law, Ty Smith.Peggy was raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. She and Don met at Kansas State University where she earned a degree in Home Economics. She and Don raised their children in Topeka and Wichita, Kansas. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, who will always be remembered for her contagious giggle and laugh.Peggy was a member of the Westwood Presbyterian Church of Wichita, Kansas. She lived in Wichita until 2012 when she moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to live with her daughter, Jane.A family graveside service will be held at a later date at Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas.
