Perry C. Isom's Obituary
Perry C Isom, III, 88, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. passed away May 10, 2021 after a brief illness. Perry, known as Bud or Buddy to friends, was born November 9, 1932 to Perry, Jr and Anemone Isom in Hominy, OK. The family moved to Tulsa in 1940 where he graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1950 and later attended The University of Tulsa where he studied business. His father had opened “Perry’s Food Store” when they came to Tulsa and Perry worked in the business all his life, becoming the full owner in 1986. Under his leadership, the store gained the reputation of a “Custom Beef and Specialty Meat Market” throughout Tulsa and the surrounding areas. Perry became a well-known business leader in the Whittier Square Improvement District, serving as treasurer for many years. He was also a Veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. Those fortunate to have known and loved Perry were blessed by his generosity and encouragement to achieve their goals. In his free time, Perry loved sailing, TU sporting events and his three Italian Greyhounds. He was preceded in death by sons Michael Thompson and Gregory Isom, grandson Joshua McCance and brother Phillip Isom. He is survived by his wife Irene of the home, daughter Renee Carlozzi and husband Al, granddaughter Loren Marshall, sister Sherry Hoort, husband Lewis and family, sister-in-law Doris Bell and family, and Elaine McCance and family of Tulsa, along with many longtime friends and employees.
A service to celebrate his life will be held May 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at Floral Haven Funeral Home Rose Chapel in Broken Arrow, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation of Texas and Oklahoma (www.igrescuetx.org).
