Philip Harris' Obituary
A husband, father, brother, and friend left earth to join Heaven’s choir to cheer for his favorite teams, The Chiefs and The Royals, where he heard that they win it all every year in Heaven. Philip Earl Harris was born April 27, 1957, to the incomparable Carol Harris (with an assist from his father), later to be joined by his sisters, Cindy and Kristi. Raised by Carol and a host of friends that surrounded him, Phil would participate in athletics, primarily, baseball and football. He had an artistic side, writing poetry and songs, and would ultimately sing in clubs around Tulsa in the late 70s & early 80s.
He met his bride, Sarah Mead Harris, while working at the YMCA. He knew she was the one for him on their first date. They married in 1987 and had a son, Jackson (Philip Jackson), while living in Olathe, Kansas, in 1995. Phil was a great husband to Sarah and a fantastic father to Jackson; both brought him the greatest joy.
Being a man of God, he was a member of Forest Park Christian Church. At FPCC, he served the Lord in many capacities: as a Deacon, Elder and Board member; however, his favorite way to serve was singing praise as a member of the choir. Phil worked for Tulsa Plastics for 15 years. A voracious reader, he loved getting lost in a good book.
Phil Harris is survived by his wife, Sarah, his son Jackson, his sisters, relatives, and many, many friends.
