Phillip Lavell "Velly Vel" Harris III's Obituary
Phillip Lavell "Velly Vel" Harris III, 48 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, April 17, 2020 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1972 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to his mother, Darline Fields Barnett and Phillip Lavell Harris. He married the love of his life, Sara Denise Walker and they have shared in over 24 wonderful years together.
He was the founder of Save Our Youth (SOY) Foundation. Coached football for 20 years. Was a natural entertainer, and loved to preform. He would do anything for the people he loved.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Sara Harris of the home; five children, Shay Harris, Michael Harris, Alexandria Harris and Trinity Harris all of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and DeVaunghte Harris of St. Louis, Missouri; his mother-in-law, Denise Walker of Wynona, Oklahoma; four siblings, Lamont Harris and his wife Leona of Bristow, Oklahoma, Denita Barnett of Greenville, Texas, Bemetria Thomas of Boley, Oklahoma and Lynn Thomas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kyrin Walker, Avery Walker, Braxton Walker, Kaydence Mitchell, Caisley Walker and Tylond Davis; one niece, Kierra Harris; and many, many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Darline Fields Barnett; brother, Wayne Thomas; Aunt, Wanda Thomas; grandmother, Marie Payne and grandfather, OC Cobbs.
The family has requested memorials be made to SAVE OUR YOUTH FOUNDATION, 1701 S Main St, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Floral Haven Funeral Home's Rose Chapel.
