Pierce F. Steele's Obituary
Pierce F. Steele born in Vinita, Ok., February 19, 1920. He went to heaven on June 16, 2016. at the Veteran’s Center in Claremore, Oklahoma. He graduated from Central High School in 1940. He served his country in WWII from Nov 1940 to Sept. 1945. Stationed in North Africa and Italy in Army Air Corp where he was a Crew Chief on B-25. Married to Reva Lucille (Long) Steele on June 2, 1941 for 67 years. Survived by his children: Patricia & Jim Lawrence of Plano, Tx. Richard & Gail Steele of Loomis, Ca, & Dennis & Georgia Steele of Broken Arrow, Ok. In addition he had 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren. Pierce & Reva were charter members of Riverside Baptist Church were he served as a Deacon. Pierce loved to garden, barbecue, play horseshoes, checkers and cards. Loving and taking care of his family were the most important part of his life. He loved his Lord and his church and he served them everyday. A special Thank You to the Veterans Center and his nurses there for the special care they gave to our dad while he struggled with dementia. Graveside service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
