Quinton Curtis Gonzales' Obituary
Quinton Curtis Gonzales, born December 8, 1970, the fifth child of Alpha and Edward Gonzales. Quinton was 52 years old. Quinton was born and raised in Catoosa Oklahoma where he attended Catoosa public schools and resided until his final days.
Quinton was preceded in death by our mother Alpha, father Edward, sister Anita, brother Eddie and nephew Edward “Eddy” Ross. They welcomed Quinton in heaven with open arms on December 22, 2022. What a wonderful reunion that must have been. Quinton was loved by everyone who met him and will be greatly missed. Our hearts are forever broken.
Quinton was survived by his older sisters: Aleta and husband Kyle Foster, Alpha Lynelle and husband Josh Bradley. Younger brother Anthony “Tony” Gonzales. Younger sister Antionette and husband Greg Lawrence. Nephews: Wes Rhea, Drew Crane, Brayden Crane, CJ Lawrence and Chance Lawrence. Nieces: Lindsey Reed, Hannah Lawrence and Khloee Gonzales.
Quinton loved his family deeply, especially his nieces and nephews. He was our wonderful uncle Quinton.”
Quinton would call his sisters and brother daily just to check on them. He worried and tried to protect them. Quinton was a loyal and kind brother who’d never let you down. He’d have given anyone the shirt off his back. I’m proud to have called this incredibly special man my brother.
Quinton loved to fish and spend time at the lake. Growing up, with a big family, we didn’t have much but we had each other. Quinton loved to make us laugh. Aleta remembered a time where he accidentally shaved both of his eyebrows off trying to trim them with a beard trimmer. He giggled when he told her what he had done and she said, “Juicy (his nickname from Kyle and Eddie) next time we get your haircut lets let them trim your eyebrows.” Aleta took wonderful care of Quinton after we lost our parents. They had a close, special relationship.
Quinton was an exceptional artist, and could draw anything his heart desired. He spent a lot of his past time sketching portraits and using colored pencils.
Quinton had the memory of an elephant and would recall friends from years past. Remember when “….” He would say… “That was a crazy, fun time”.” “I can’t believe we did that.” He lived every moment to its fullest and regretted nothing.
On behalf of our family, we would like to thank each of you that is here today. We have received countless phone calls, texts, visits, thoughts and prayers. They have been both comforting during this difficult time and have been a reminder of the impact that Quinton had on so many. Heaven gained an amazing gift, our brother.
If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane. I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken, no time to say “Goodbye” You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why.
My heart will ache with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to love you – no one can ever know.
But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more; To remember all the happy times life still has much in store.
Since you’ll never be forgotten I pledge to you today a hollowed place within my heart is where you’ll always stay.
