Pam Soreide
Rae McGuire was my Aunt, she and my mom were twin sisters. We lived on the same street 4 houses from each other when I grew up. Everyone should have someone in there life like Aunt Rae. She was always a non-judgemental ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.
When my Dad was in the hospital suffering from cancer at the end of the his life she sat with me day and night, never offering opinions or thoughts she was just there for me.
Several years later when my Mom got dementia and was no longer able to live alone my husband and I brought her to live with us. However, my husband and I both worked during the day, so Aunt Rae had me bring my Mom to her house and she kept her while we worked. As Mom's disease progressed and she was unable to dress her self Aunt Rae realized I was late in the mornings because I was having problems getting her ready, so she told me to bring her in her pajamas and if they were going to go anywhere she would get her dressed.
I received a sympathy card from a friend that reads, "A Million little memories of a Beautiful Person" and that's what I have of Aunt Rae. She was a glass half full even in the toughest of times. She loved hers unconditionally and doted on those closet to her.
As I said everyone should have an Auntie Rae and I am truly blessed to have had mine. I will always love her and I will always miss her.
Love you to the moon and back Auntie Rae, Pammie
