Ralph Eugene Fowler's Obituary
The Rev. Ralph E. Fowler born August 10, 1932 completed his journey to be with the Lord on March 29, 2017. During his final months, he resided at Brookdale Assisted Living in Broken Arrow, OK. Many of the nurses who cared for him commented about his sense of humor and that he never complained. It was not unusual for him to be found preaching a sermon in the hallway or dining room. Although his memory had faded, he could still stand next to his wife at the piano and sing the words to every old hymn that had thread its way into his heart. His love for people and Jesus was evident even until his last days here. Ralph was the valedictorian of the Williamsport High School class of 1950. He worked as paymaster at the Byron Leathers Tannery in Williamsport for 2 years before attending Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. A few years after graduation, he was ordained by the Assemblies of God and recently was honored with a 50 year service award. He pastored churches in Shookstown, MD; Marlowe, WV; and Mesa, AZ. He and his wife retired to Oklahoma to be near their grandchildren. While pastoring in the Potomac District of the Assemblies of God, he was elected to serve on the Board of Presbyters. Ralph was the only child of his parents George W. Fowler, Jr. and Margaret J. Fowler of Hagerstown, MD who have both advanced to heaven before him. His family who will dearly miss him are his wife Helen Fowler of Broken Arrow, OK. Two sons, Mark Fowler and his wife Rebecca of Hattieville, AR and Todd Fowler and his wife Sherry of Albuquerque, NM. He has three grandchildren Lindsey, Logan and Andrew and one great grandson Hunter. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends make a donation to the Food Pantry at The Assembly in Broken Arrow.
