Ramona or “Monie” as her friends knew her grew up in Coweta and graduated from Coweta High School in 1947.
She attended Phillips University where she met Lee Malcolm from Cherokee, Kansas. Lee was in the Air Force and stationed in Enid. They married on June 1, 1950 and were married for 40 years. They had many fond memories of being stationed in England for two years after they had their first child, Jan. They returned to Coweta, OK and Lee worked at America Airlines. They moved to Broken Arrow in 1967, Ramona and Lee were members of the Broken Arrow United Methodist Church. Ramona had various jobs along with being a wonderful mother to 3 children. Ramona enjoyed cooking, baking pies, gardening, sewing and traveling with her husband and with her friends after she became a widow. She was a member of the Rose Club. She enjoyed volunteering in her church’s library and loved being a part of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School class and Ruth Circle. Her favorite activity was spending time with family and her 5 granddaughters. They enjoyed happy times at “Mawmaw’s” house swimming in her pool and playing outside on the 5 acres in the country. Our mom had a servant’s heart and loved her family well. We are grateful for the years and memories we have of a wonderful mom and grandmother.
