Randy Blevins' Obituary
Randall Scott Blevins, adored father, husband, grandfather, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 74.
Born June 7, 1950, in Tulsa to Leo and Marilyn (Shipley) Blevins, Randy brought laughter and light to everyone around him from an early age. Known as the class clown, he was also a third-place state champion wrestler, and as a young teenager, he stepped in to help his mother in the raising of his younger siblings. Randy graduated from Sooner High School in Bartlesville in 1969, later earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. He was the first in his family to graduate college, all while working full-time—a testament to his unwavering dedication and grit.
On June 17, 1972, Randy married Joyce Chesnut, his high school sweetheart. Together Randy and Joyce founded Blevins Sooner Plumbing, Heat & Air in 1977. They also welcomed daughter Rebecca in 1977 and son Matthew in 1979. The family moved to Piedmont, Oklahoma in 1984 where they built an unforgettable log home themselves. The family home was a welcoming hub for countless friends and family to gather over the decades.
Later in life Randy and Joyce went their separate ways and Randy reconnected with his high school best friend, Pam Kelsey O’Halloran. They married on June 16, 2007, in Tulsa, surrounded by their families and friends. They spent wonderful years together traveling across the U.S., Europe, and Hawaii, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Randy was a lifelong student of history, especially the Roman Empire, the Civil War, and U.S. Presidents—and he shared that passion with anyone who would lend an ear. He was also known as a favorite teacher of 4th and 8th-grade history and geography at Riverfield Country Day school in Tulsa, where he and Pam taught together.
A devoted father, coach, and supporter, Randy rarely missed his children's or grandchildren's ball games or music recitals, always cheering them on. He also regularly volunteered for the Special Olympics and the National Convention for Williams Syndrome Association. He had a soft spot for Peeps candy and an ornery sense of humor. If you were ever called "chicken lips" by Randy, you knew that you were one of his favorites.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Mark and Danny Blevins.
He is survived by his wife Pam O’Halloran-Blevins, daughter Rebecca (Blevins) Anderson and husband Eric, son Matthew Blevins and wife Shannon, daughter Kelsey O’Halloran, son Sean O’Halloran, son Kevin O’Halloran and wife Stephanie, sister Cindy (Blevins) Hasse, brother David Blevins, grandchildren Cierra Smith, Aden Anderson, Emre Anderson, Ean Anderson, Edie Blevins, Bella O’Halloran, Beckett O’Halloran, Alexis O’Halloran, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Randy's legacy is one of perseverance, loyalty, and love in action. He often said, "Talk is cheap. Show your love through your actions"--and he truly lived those words every day. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the joy, wisdom, and compassion he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him
