Herron, Ransom's Obituary
Ransom W. Herron Jr., beloved father, grandfather, and companion, passed away January 4, 2025 in Claremore, OK. Born in Onapa, Oklahoma, on May 23, 1927, to Ransom W. Herron Sr. and Mable Carr, Ransom's life was marked by hard work, love, and devotion to his family and community.
A man of many talents, Ransom was a dedicated school teacher, mason, and cattle rancher. He also found joy in working as a tour bus driver, sharing his love for country and western music, history, and storytelling with others. His warm personality, quick wit, and kind heart made him a beloved figure to all who knew him. He was an enthusiastic dancer and reveled in the simple pleasures of life, often dancing to his favorite country and western tunes with friends and family.
Ransom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Reba Sue Herron, his son Michael Herron, and all his siblings: David Herron, Inez Guinn, Addie Williams, Frances Pemberton, and Bonnie Martin. He is survived by his loving partner, Della Williams; his daughter, Letitia Herron (Stephanie Jones); grandchildren, Nicole Herron (Heather Brock-Herron), Melissa Hogan (Justin) and Chris Herron; great-grandson Conner Hogan, many nieces, nephews and cousins; and foreman Randy Upky.
Ransom's legacy is one of hard work, resilience, and genuine kindness. He was a man who truly lived life to the fullest and left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 12-5 PM at Floral Haven. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven.
