Ray L. Silvey's Obituary
Ray Leroy Silvey, 85, of San Benito Texas., died June 18, 2011, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas. Ray was born March 17, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, and after high school and a stint in the U.S. Navy, he went to work for Skelly Oil Co. After transferring with Skelly to Tulsa, Okla. in 1963, he continued his oil business career with Getty Oil and finally with Texaco. He retired from Texaco in 1986. Surviving Ray L. are two sons, Michael K. Silvey of Kansas City and Gary S. Silvey of Golden, Colorado, daughters Linda (Silvey) Magnin of Norman, Oklahoma, Barbara (Silvey) Williams of Grove, Oklahoma and sister Virginia (Silvey) Johnson of Kansas City. Also surviving are grandchildren Barry and Kelly Magnin of Norman and Andy and Jay Silvey of Golden, Colorado. Ray L. was preceded in death by his wife Maxine (Blankenship) Silvey, father James Ray Silvey, and mother Helen Louise (Rings) Silvey.
