Raymond Lee Bumgarner's Obituary
On July 21, 1954, Raymond Lee Bumgarner, youngest of two boys, was born unto Juanita and Samuel Bumgarner, Sr; younger brother to Samuel “Sammy” Bumgarner, Jr. Raymond spent the first half of his life in Tulsa – this is where he met Gretchen Sullateskee. On January 1, 1975, he and Gretchen were married in Tulsa. Shortly after, in 1976, they had their first of two daughters, April. In 1981, their youngest daughter Melissa arrived to complete their family. A couple of years later, Raymond and the family moved out into the country (Terlton) to be close to his parents. Raymond worked hard as a welder and carpenter to provide for his family. He loved everyone with his whole heart. Whatever someone needed, he gave it to them. Whenever he didn’t have it to give, he found a way to get it and give it. He paid no mind to his own needs. He had faith, he knew, he would be okay. Raymond never had life handed to him, yet he never ran out of things to give. He remained like this until his last day. Even if you weren’t short on cash, it was a losing battle to refuse money from him. Around Raymond, no one was ever short on anything because he was overflowing with love. He used some of his last breaths, talking, making sure others were okay. It’s the only time he’d ever fallen short of anything. True to form, he wasn’t worried about himself. Raymond didn’t love to live, but rather, he lived to love.Funeral Service Wednesday, December 31st,2015-12:30 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Chapel.
