Raymond Eugene Cason's Obituary
Raymond Eugene Cason of Broken Arrow, OK, passed from this life on June 18th, 2025, at the age of 86. Ray better known as ‘Jet Boat Ray’ or ‘Papa’ was born in LaGrange, GA on May 16th, 1939, to Jesse L Cason & Effie Mae Cason. After High school he married Elouise Bruner, his “Toots” sharing their life for 66 yrs. Together they had 3 children, John Joseph, Cynthia Leigh & Paula Sue. Ray had several careers but found his passion owning Custom Marine & RV. We often called him McGyver saying if we were ever stranded anywhere, he would be the person you want with you. He could fix anything, if “Dad…Papa” can’t fix it, nobody can! He was a big fan of drag boat racing, car racing & watching sports with Toots but going to the lake & camping with their 3 kids & many family members was their favorite hobby even though it took 4 hours to get their when they lived in California. In his younger years he was very well known in California for his Slot Car racing ability. Later, he spent summer weekends traveling with Toots to help wrench on his friend Will’s drag boat at local races. Sitting on their front porch visiting with neighbors Wiley & Mark was their way of relaxing in the evening. Ray was a wonderful husband & dad and a very smart man of many talents that will be missed dearly every day of our lives! He lost “Toots”, the love of his life, February 16th, 2023. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jesse L Cason & Effie Mae Cason; siblings, Robert Cason, Jessie Hudgins, Bobby McCully & Mary Wrenn; son, John Joseph Cason. He is survived by children, Cynthia Hansen, Paula Wood & husband Tony Wood; grandchildren, Candice Cason, John R. Cason, Chris Hansen & Michael Wood; great-grandchildren, Haley George, Aubrey Cason, Landon Presson, Kobi Cason and Kaden Cason; great-great grandchildren; Baylor Quinalty, Myla Wilson and several nieces & nephews.
