There are so many things I could say about Beck. She will always be one of my heroes in this life. We have been friends since kindergarten. She is that friend that no matter how much time or distance separates, when you talk or are back together again, you pick up right where you left off.
She basically delivered my second son - doctor showed up at the last possible second. She was also there to protect him when a very young phlebotomist was trying to take blood and couldn't (she had already stuck him multiple times). I called and asked if she was at work. She said no, but I can be there in ten minutes. She came at a moments notice. She walked in and was shocked at the vials this young girl had laid out. She had a few choice words for her and told her that she was about to draw almost his entire blood volume. Then with practiced efficiency she took his blood with a single stick. Between the grace of God and Becky, no irreparable damage was done.
She was strong, compassionate, caring, loving, loyal... the adjectives go on and on... But most of all she was simply my friend.
