In Loving Memory of Regena Schnackenberg
Regena went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born October 5, 1934, in Brentwood Arkansas to parents Nealie and Hazel (Talley) Fine. She later moved to West Fork, Arkansas where she grew up and graduated from high school. After graduation, she worked at First Christian Church as a Secretary as well as attended college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1956. She moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she worked at ONG and US Steel.
While in Tulsa, Regena met the love of her life Alfred “Al” Schnackenberg in 1956. They were married August 16, 1958 in West Fork, Arkansas. They resided in Tulsa and spent 56 wonderful years together. Regena gave birth to her first daughter, Linda, in August 1961 and then in May 1963 gave birth to her second daughter Diane. She became a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in 1958 where she was active in serving in many areas. She taught Sunday School, served on the Board of Evangelism, was a member of the LWML, and was in the Sunshine Circle where she brought flowers to church members in the hospital. She especially loved to sing in the church choir and loved delivering Meals On Wheels with Al.
After having her daughters Linda and Diane, Regena was a stay at home mom until she started working part-time at Sears Department Store on the sales floor in 1969. She eventually moved to a full-time position at Sears in the Administrative Office. She stayed at Sears for 28 years until her retirement in 1997. After they built the new Sears Store, she had the honor of cutting the ribbon on opening day in 1998.
Regena is preceded in death by her parents, Brother Delford Fine, Sister Earlene Carter and her husband Al Schnackenberg who passed away in 2015. She is survived by her daughter Linda Young and her spouse Kelly, daughter Diane Williams and her spouse Steve; Grandchildren Brandon Williams and his spouse Nicole, Ashton Lipshetz and her spouse Brett, Courtney Sauls and her spouse Garrett, and Casey Young and his spouse Jessica; Great Grandchildren Jaden, Noah and Mason Williams, Harrison and Graham Sauls, Isaac and Amelia Young, and Wyatt Lipshetz.
Regena will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 146 S. Sheridan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10 am.
