Remi Anne Barrios' Obituary
Remi Anne Barrios, “Birdie”, went to be with Jesus peacefully after 6 years of her miraculous life and fighting spirit, in the comfort of her home, cozy in her bed. She lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her mommy Kelsey Tudor and “dada” (as she called him) Stephen “Blake” Tackett.
Remi was born on April 12th, 2018 in Dallas, Texas at Children’s Medical Center to begin her journey with congenital heart defects and other health conditions so she could receive some of the best medical treatment before finally being able to go home to Tulsa with her family. In the course of her life she endured and conquered over 20 surgeries, many of them being open heart surgery, and she was the strongest girl through it all. Remi was also born with Down syndrome and was accepted at the Little Light House school in Tulsa at 3 years old where she began her education, and spent 3 years there. After graduating the program, she then attended Ellen Ochoa Elementary for 1st grade. She received the best care and love at both schools, as well as wonderful special needs programs and therapies needed for intellectual and cognition development. She was so smart and accomplished so much despite her diagnoses.
Remi loved to be social, and everyone was a friend in her eyes. She loved to color, do puzzles, play basketball, sing and dance, play outside, run errands and just be out and about, play with her plethora of stuffed animals (Mickey Mouse was her favorite), play with her siblings, laugh and be silly with her “dada” Blake Tackett, absolutely loved food and chocolate, and most of all she loved to cuddle with mommy and do everything together. Everyone who knows her knows she truly was the happiest little girl out there, with the biggest, warmest smile, and contagious laugh. She had the best attitude no matter what she went through in her many hospital stays and doctor appointments, and she was always a light to everyone’s day. The health scares she overcame really encompassed the miracles of God. Her beautiful face, bright spirit, and pure joy will be incredibly missed.
Remi is survived by her mother Kelsey Tudor, stepfather Stephen Blake Tackett, father Blake Barrios, grandmother Ricki Tudor, grandfather Michael Tudor, grandmother Marsha Tudor, step grandmother Timothia Brownfield, brother Kameron Tudor, brother Leo Hardesty, stepbrother Logan Tackett, and sister Mikaela Hardesty, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Thank you to all who loved her and all the support given to help us navigate this new reality without our angel. We look forward to the day we reunite with precious Remi and her love and spirit is all around us.
