I am lucky person to be realated to Rex. He was proud of our names – his last , my middle – but iam more blessed tohave known him, He had much wisdom and knowledge and would share that with you, sometimes even if you didn't wantit, but he would ask if he could help, even though he said he had a mechanical bypass at birth. He loved to laugh, tell ajoke or hear one , so he could tell others and make them laugh. We would laugh with him and at times we would laugh at him laughing so hard he couldnt stop(stump grinding). Iknow he loved Sherry and his children so much. He would find something he thought would make Sherry happierand off we would go shopping. He also knew that the little thing smade her the happiest, a smile, hold her hand,or a small kiss from him or a remark that he only could make like " I married her, but didn't mean to make her have to be married to me 24 hours a day" only jesting.I learned so much from him and use most of what he taught to me in my daily life.In the past five years we became closer and I beleive we thought on the same levelor atleast I tried. He has a great knowledge and wisdom on many things. when we would talk of his son David, his chest would swell up so much, he was so very proud of him. when conversation went to Christine he wanted to make everthing in her life perfect, had to remind him that she is a very capable woman and he didn't need to help so much. If he could rope the moon wrap it up give it to her,he would have!Like a good Dad, he didn't ever want her to struggle in life.I know he became closer to his Lordby the way he would help peopl. Always said" Please grant me this blessing of helping you" either by monetary,or his possession's or to feed them."Take two, their small" (If you don't know these inside jokes, come see me and I will elaboate.)He wasn't just my uncle,he was my friend. It made me feel warm and happy when he would greet me or tell me goodbye, calling me his friend. He didn't know any stranger. If he found one, he would make a point to introduce himself, he would say that you can't know enough people in life. He knew them all. Rex was humbled by his medical problems, but was determined to not let them deter him from what he wanted to do. I wanted to read this at his passing, but feel it would be too hard for me to do so- I loved this man, as im sure many others do. He is sorely missed. We have lostmuch in his passing, but I know God's kingdom has gained much much more!
