Rhea Marlene Logan's Obituary
In the afternoon of April 17, 2023, Rhea Marlene Logan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, peacefully passed from this life, just three days shy of her 87th birthday.
She was born in her home on April 20, 1936, in Greene County, Pennsylvania, the youngest of six children to Harry and Florence (Schilling) McClure. Marlene met the love of her life, David Logan, and the two were married on April 8, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, and together they raised four children. Marlene, along with David, served the community for forty-five years as active members of the Tulsa Lions’ Club, where she held several leadership positions, including Secretary and Treasurer. Marlene was very involved in her children’s schools and extracurricular activities, volunteering as a teacher’s aide and working in the PTA. She also worked for 14 years as an elementary school Principal’s assistant in the Tulsa Public Schools.
Nothing made Marlene happier than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was very talented with many crafts, including painting, crocheting and calligraphy. She delighted in showing her love by making and giving handmade gifts. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed teaching her children to cook as well.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, David, her parents, and siblings. She is survived by her 2 sons: Edwin Logan (Maria) of Owasso, Oklahoma and Earl Logan (Teresa) of Owasso, Oklahoma, 2 daughters: Cynthia Cox of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Cathleen Bragg (Steven) of Tallassee, Alabama, 9 grandchildren: Mike Puente, Amy Moss, Kari Goins, Jessica Poteet, Melissa Cobb, Samuel Logan, Jenni Logan, Daniel Bragg, Sarah Widen, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with James Monroe (Monty) Pettyjohn officiating.
Interment will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery in Greensburg, Kansas.
