Richard Ancil Wolfenbarger, Jr.'s Obituary
Richard A. Wolfenbarger, Jr, fondly “Wolf” “Wolfie” or “Dick” to friends, 82, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 in Oklahoma City. He was born March 8, 1933 in Tulsa to Richard Sr and Lucille Wolfenbarger. Richard graduated from Bagley High School in Tahlequah in 1952 and then enlisted in the US Army. He was a proud member of the 187th Airborne Division and served as a paratrooper stationed in Japan. Richard and Daisy met on April 1st, 1956 when they discovered they were each other’s blind dates later in the evening. They hit it off immediately, were married on October 13th, 1956, and were inseparable for 58 years. Daisy passed away only 5 weeks ago and we know they are together again. He enjoyed High Nine games with his brothers, Western movies, and was an avid reader. He never missed a game when the OSU Cowboys or the St Louis Cardinals were playing. He also loved classic cars and driving them fast! He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis Wolfenbarger, and the War Department, Daisy. He is survived by son Rick and wife Darlene of Oklahoma City, granddaughters Tara and Renee of Oklahoma City, brothers Eugene and wife Wanda of Tahlequah, Jimmie and wife Susan of Claremore, Larry and wife Joan of Broken Arrow, David and wife Susan of Porter, Lonnie and wife Patty of Sand Springs, sisters Carol Speer of Broken Arrow and Pam and husband Alcardio Foy of Beggs, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2015 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
