sorry for your loss
I met dick in Norma about three and a half years ago when I took over the mail route I noticed about 20 bicycles in their driveway and thought wow they have a lot of grandchildren of course I had to knock on the door and introduce myself and it was love at first sight they adopted me as family and I became close to them as a friend and not only as their mail lady they were always there for me when I had health issues and prayed with me daily I miss him so very much who's going to harass me now asking how many checks I have to give to him it's really hard going up to the house and fill in the void but it gives my heart much happiness of all the funny jokes that used to tell me and as Chris would say everything is going to be ok rest in peace Grandpa Banks I love you
Dick was a joy to be around! I worked in the same building from 2007 until we all had to move. He & I were both "bosses" of our organizations, and he would stop in and tell me to "ask the boss if it was OK to leave early today".He was always so cheerful, telling me about his bike kids and his work with them. I watched many bicycles leave the building with new owners thanks to Dick Banks. There is no other like him! My sincere condolences – Kathy Collins Tulsa Town Hall
I remember Dick as a very warm and wonderful person. May God's love comfort you, Norma, Brad, Greg and all your family. I enjoyed knowing all of you at First Methodist years ago. Grace & Peace, Nancy Brown
When Dick put his arm around your shoulder, it felt like the wing of an angel. A wonderful person who helped others with his bicycle ministry. Dick helped me get my business off the ground. He touched the world in a wonderful, positive way.
Norma and family, we are sad to hear of Dicks passing but rejoice in knowing Whose he is and that we shall see him again. Besides the everyday greeting we got at church, one of my fondest remembrances was going to a Vietnamese restaurant with yall and Dick ordering for all. It was a great time and good food. Please know that we are sending love and hugs to you all and prayers for great comfort by the Holy Spirit!Jan and Jerry (Rodelander) now Sadler
I knew Dick for 25 years through his company. He was such a fine gentleman. Whenever I needed some help with his economics program, he always took the time to do so and made my work so much easier. I will always remember the many times, when after helping me with some problem at 5:30 on a Friday, he would tell me to take the rest of the week off! Now it's your turn Dick. Take the rest of the week off, put on your helmet and ride. There are no stop signs on the streets of gold. Leon Rodak
Dick was such a wonderful, caring person and a friend. He was a great member of the petroleum engineering community and was always eager to explain the pitfalls of contouring products of data as opposed to the correct way of contouring individual data and integrating the resulting surfaces. His economics program was the fastest available, able to compute hundreds of cases in the blink of an eye. He cared equally for people whether they were customers or not and was always happy to see you. He was a gentle, gracious person and will be greatly missed.
