Richard Harold Fuller's Obituary
Richard Harold Fuller
September 19, 1931 - February 15, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Harold Fuller, a beloved husband, father, and devoted servant of the community, on February 15, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born on September 19, 1931, in rural Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, Richard grew up as a "dust farmer," often humorously remarking that the poor people called his family poor. They lived through the Great Depression, yet his family felt little difference from their usual hardships. Despite these challenges, Richard's upbringing instilled in him an unwavering work ethic and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
In 1955, Richard embarked on a long and fulfilling career with IBM, dedicating 36 years of service until his retirement in 1989. His work took him across the country, contributing to the advancement of technology and connecting with countless individuals along the way.
However, Richard's true passions lay in the fields and pastures of Oklahoma. He was not only a dedicated pig farmer, nurturing his beloved pigs with care and affection, but also a cattle rancher and an expert in the hay bailing and hauling business. His love for agriculture and the land was evident to all who knew him.
Richard's life took a joyous turn when he met the love of his life, Opal, at a skating rink while serving in the Air Force. He served in the Air Force for four years. They were married on June 13, 1954 at Grant City Baptist Church in Grant City, Missouri. They shared a deep and abiding love that grew stronger with each passing year. Together, they built a beautiful home on Richard's old homestead acreage in Okmulgee, a compromise that allowed Opal to enjoy the comforts of a city-style house while fulfilling Richard's dream of living on a farm.
As the youngest of three boys, Richard cherished his family and upheld strong values in raising his own children. He and Opal raised three children, all born in Bartlesville, in the church. The church was a cornerstone of Richard's life, and he pioneered and planted four (4) churches, and built additional four (4) churches in seven (7) separate towns and hamlets, and supporting numerous mission trips over the years. His dedication to the church's mission work was a testament to his boundless faith and generosity.
Richard's legacy of hard work, love, and faith will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. In his community, elected President of the School Board for Wilson Public Schools. Also, mentored young ranchers and farmers raising livestock in the Okmulgee County Farm Bureau East Central District. He is survived by his children: Dianne King, and husband Mike; Brent Fuller; and Greg Fuller, and wife Cheryl; his grandchildren: Michael King, and wife Amanda; Rachel Wade, and husband Jeremy; Sarah Fixico, and husband Cameron; JR Fuller, and wife Angela; Angela Johnson, and husband Michael; Gregory Fuller, and wife Michelle; Chris Fuller, and wife Abbey; his great grandchildren:
Brooke King, Remington Wade, Jenna Wade, Preston Factor, Alayna Fixico, Isaac Fixico, Jayden Fuller, Judge Fuller; Ахe Fuller, Michael Johnson, Scott Fuller, Henry Fuller, and Isla Fuller; along with a host of other family and friends that will forever miss and love him.
He is reunited with his parents Henry Morgan and Pearl Ruth (Fenter) Fuller; brothers Earnest Lee and Earl Harvey Fuller; and spouse Madama Opal (Harding) Fuller.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Mission Fund through Okmulgee First Assembly of God, honoring Richard's lifelong commitment to supporting mission work.
