Richard James Holt's Obituary
Reflections of “Jays” Life On Feb. 3, 1925 a baby boy was born to Mr.Willie Holt, and Augusta Tottress Holt. Jay was born in Blackjack, Oklahoma, and later moved to Tallahassee, Oklahoma, where he was raised and attended school with his only sibling, Geraldine Holt Simmons, and a host of cousins. Jay accepted Christ at an early age, moved to Tulsa, and joined St. Andrew Baptist Church. He remained a member until his health failed. He was one of the best skilled carpenters that ever lived. Jay’s carpentry skills were one of the greatest gifts God bestowed upon him besides his lovely wife Helen Sharp Holt and his family. Preceding Jay in death was his beloved wife, Helen Sharp Holt and one daughter. Jay is survived by three children whom all reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Connie Holt Fisher (Michael), Willie Charles Holt (Queen), Debra Holt Ross (Vernal),14 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and a host of relatives and good friends. Jay also served our nation as a proud member of the Navy during World War II. The family would like to provide special thanks to Freedom Hospice, and Maplewood Care Center for the exceptional care provided to their loved one.
