Richard Kenneth Murdock's Obituary
Richard Kenneth Murdock, (Ken), a resident of Claremore, Oklahoma, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Claremore, Oklahoma. At the age of 83.Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Doyce and Lucille Murdock; sister Shirley Hall and Barbara Arnold. He is survived by his wife, Fay Murdock; his son Eric Murdock and daughter Gina Best; 3 grandchildren, Dustin Murdock, Austin Murdock, and Mitchell Murdock. 1 great granddaughter Maisie Murdock. His brothers Johnny Murdock and Wendell Murdock.Ken was born September 6, 1934 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Doyce and Mina “Lucille”(Breedlove) Murdock.Ken grew up in Hardin, Arkansas. The family moved to Tulsa in the early 1950’s and he graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1953. He was drafted in the Army in 1958.He married Fay Welch on May 26, 1961 and later had 2 children Eric and Gina.In 1969, Ken and Fay and their kids moved to the country east of Broken Arrow on 50 acres so their children could have horses and plenty of room to play. They lived there until 1996 when they moved to their residence in Claremore, Oklahoma.He worked as a painting contractor for several years and became a Home Builder in 1971. He built homes for 30 years before retiring in 2001.He loved fishing, deer hunting, and camping trips.Ken was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.He will be truly missed by his family and loved ones.
