Richard M Niemiec's Obituary
Richard “Rick” M. Niemiec, 51, of Broken Arrow, Ok. died on May 12th, 2016 in his home after battling colon cancer for three years. He was born on September 27, 1964 in Hammond, In. He enjoyed being a cub scout in his younger years and played guitar in junior high and high school. He played a guitar solo piece in Jazz band in junior high and loved to practice guitar with friends in garage bands in high school. Rick graduated from Herscher High School in 1982 in Herscher, Ill. He moved with his parents, Pat and Larry Niemiec, to Tulsa, Ok in January of 1983. He graduated from Platte College with a certification in Production Art. He worked several jobs, many of which were telemarketing jobs. He met his wife over the phone during one of those telemarketing jobs. Rick and Ronda were married shortly thereafter on July 20, 1994. Using skills he’d attained through these various jobs, Rick launched his 20 year career in the telecommunications field. The last nine of those years he was employed by CenturyLink. He obtained numerous awards and recognition throughout his career. He was a great provider for his family. Rick was an avid music lover, enjoyed yard work, and working with wood and metal. He was a member of Church on the Move for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Ronda, four children, Aubrey, Ariel, Autumn, and Andrew, his father Larry, and his sister Laura Thrash.
