Richard Allen Pitts' Obituary
Richard (Dick) Allen Pitts, 85, of Bixby, OK, passed away on Feb 20, 2016. The celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am on Feb 27, 2016 at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, OK. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 8:00 pm Fri Feb 26 with family receiving guest from 6-8 pm at Floral Haven. Dick was born in Independence, KS on Jan 18, 1931. He served in the US Army at a young age. Later he attended and received his Assoc. Degree from Independence Community College. While attending school he worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad Lines.Dick was married to Anna on November 21, 1974; they were married 41 years. Dick worked as an insurance agent for National Life, Allstate and then State Farm for 34 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and loved living on the farm and raising cattle when they lived in Haskell. He loved watching college football and reading non-fiction books.Dick is survived by wife Anna, sons Bill (Joan) Pitts, and Eric (Paula) Pitts both from the Tulsa area; stepchildren Chuck Herbeck from Vancouver, WA; David (Cynthia) Herbeck from Sapulpa, OK; and Denise (Ron) Sawyer, Jacksonville, AR; grandchildren, Jenny Pitts, Josh Pitts, Jamie Wilkins, Sam Herbeck, Emma Herbeck, Jason Pitts, Jessie Ross, Heather Anderson, Sarah Berger, Chrissy Gray, Tiffny Kuper, Justin Wichmann, Zack Pitts, Michael Unger, Branden Sawyer, Jason Sawyer, Kelsey Pitts, Hannah Pitts, and Mason Pitts;19 great grandchildren. Dick is preceded in death by daughter Maggie Wilkins, son Doug Pitts, son Loring Pitts, son Gary Pitts, parents Howard and Margaret Pitts and brother Carl Pitts. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Salvation Army. Visitation will be Friday, February 26th, 2016, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Floral Haven Funeral Home Family will receive friends Friday, February 26th, 2016, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Floral Haven Funeral Home Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 27th, 2016 – 10:00 AM, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel Committal Services will be Saturday, February 27th, 2016, Heritage Mausoleum Chapel
