Richard Tanner's Obituary
Richard Murl Tanner, 72, of Broken Arrow passed away on September 6, 2019. He was born June 13, 1947 to Murl and Melva (Vance) Tanner. He graduated from Pawnee High School in 1965 and earned a marketing degree from Central State University in Edmond, Okahoma in 1971. He worked in insurance group sales for Hartfod Insurance and for Blue Cross, Blue Shield. He later worked as a Training Specialist for disabled individuals at the Gatesway Foundation.He was a veteran of The U.S. Navy, serving a nine – month tour in Vietnam. Richard enjoyed fishing, camping out, snow skiing, golfing , OU football and his children and grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bobby Tanner. He is survived by his wife, Randi; son Chad and wife Bekah Tanner; daughter Mindy and husband Kent Brown; daughter Lindsey and husband Luke Wilson; seven grandchildren Nathan Tanner, Natalia Macias, Boston Mackin, Olivia Mackin, Preston Brown, Reagan Brown and Arlo Wilson. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Hudspeth of Broken Arrow; brother David Tanner of Edmond and many nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in the Rose Chapel.
