Richard Dale Thompson's Obituary
Richard Dale Thompson, 71, of Tulsa, passed away on November 18, 2019 surrounded by his family. Dale, as he was known, was born June 2, 1948 in Oklahoma City, the youngest son of Richard and Marjorie Thompson. Dale attended Putnam City Schools and graduated high school in 1966. Dale attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Business Administration. On December 28, 1981 Dale was blessed with a son Jason, of Tulsa. Dale made a lifetime of working in telecommunications from Telex to WilTel to MCI WorldCom/Verizon and Level 3. Dale met Mary Anne in 1998 and they were married on February 6, 1999. Dale and Mary Anne had 20 happy years together. They were charter members of Evergreen Baptist Church. Dale and Mary Anne enjoyed traveling, being with friends and going to the lake. Dale was preceded in death by his parents. Dale is survived by wife Mary Anne of the home; Son Jason of Tulsa; Step-daughter Amy Foster and husband Bear of Broken Arrow; Step-daughter Cindy Wacasey and husband Fallon of Broomfield, CO; five grandchildren Casey and Brecklynn Foster; Emma, Lily and Ava Wacasey; two brothers David Thompson and wife Sherry of Oklahoma City and Dennis Thompson and wife Beth of Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday November 25th, 2019 at Evergreen Baptist Church located at 10301 East 111th Street South Bixby, OK 74008. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Dale’s honor to Evergreen Baptist Church, the American Lung Association, or to the American Cancer Society.
