Richard "Dan" Wagner's Obituary
Richard Dan Wagner, age 79, passed away Friday morning, December 30, 2016 at home while surrounded by his family. Richard was born on January 31, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he later attended The University of Tulsa and graduated from TU Law, being admitted to The Oklahoma Bar Association in 1963. He was widowed in 2007 after his wife, Jerry Ann Wagner, passed away after 42 years of marriage. Dan and Jerry Ann have two children, James Richard Wagner and Robert Dan Wagner, who is married to Tammi Wagner (all from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma). Richard Dan (or “Opa”) is also survived by three grand children, Danielle 25, Brittany 21, and Clayton 13. He is survived by is brother, William Don (Butch) Wagner. He is also survived by his “Fur Babies,” Wags, Paisley marie, Lottie Moon, Jenney Bean, June Bug and “Waldo.” Dan is preceded in death by his Parents, Richard Leon and Selma Eugene Wagner, and his sister Selma Elaine George from Tulsa, OK. Dan was very involved in his church and served on Memorial Baptist Church’s Board of Deacons since September of 2009. If he was not at home with family or at church, you could find him at The University of Tulsa Skelly stadium or Donald W. Reynolds Center cheering on his Golden Hurricane in both Football or Basketball. He was truly a No.1 fan and passed the love of the team onto his children and grandchildren. Dan’s memorial service will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00am at Memorial Baptist Church, 2800 South Yale Ave. Tulsa, OK. It is requested not only by Dan but the family that in lieu of flowers, meals, and gifts that you make a contribution to Memorial Baptist Church. Please put on your Tulsa University gear or Blue and Gold and join us in a celebration of Dan’s life.
