I first met Rickey Brush and his beautiful, magnificent family in October of 2014. Within seconds of meeting them, Rickey and his family showered me with authentic Southern hospitality and instantly made me feel like a member of the family. It’s in the Brush family DNA they are generous, humble and kind individuals. There are not enough words to describe the type of person Rickey Brush was. He was the patriarch of his family. He scattered happiness like confetti and wore a constant smile. He brought joy, harmony and endless love to his family and friends. My personal sentiment of Rickey Brush is I’m a better person for knowing him. He told me to always remember, “It’s not how you start or how you finish, but how you live your life in between”. As a fellow Christian, we both share atonement with God and the salvation of Jesus Christ. Rickey is with the Trinity and living in eternity with his family.
