Dr. Robert D. Alyea's Obituary
Dr. Robert D. Alyea, 89, passed away Wednesday, 19 March, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born 28 March, 1924 in Pittsburg, Kansas to parents Paul and Hazel Alyea. He attended Optometric college at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dessa Herriman Alyea, sons Robert Alyea and David Alyea. He is survived by daughters Susan Alyea and Carolyn Alyea-Lagorio (Michael Lagorio) as well as son, Stephen Alyea (Kate Baker-Alyea). He is also survived by two grandsons, Jo and John Lagorio and three granddaughters, Emily Geisert, Mackenzie Alyea, and Sarah Chastain, and one great granddaughter. Bob enjoyed traveling with Dessa, riding his bike, walking and exercising. He had a great love for the Lord and did missionary trips to examine eyes in needy countries. Services were held in a private family service on Monday, 24 March, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Body by Gerry Aerobics Class, care of First United Methodist Church, Broken Arrow, OK.
