Robert "Bob" Bryan Talbutt's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Bryan Talbutt was born in Pawhuska, OK; April 27, 1925, to Robert Buckner Talbutt and Julia Ann (Davis) Talbutt. Bob and his sister, Julia Ann, attended Osage Indian Camp School in Pawhuska through eighth grade. Bob graduated from Will Rogers in Tulsa and then spent 2 ½ years in the US Army Air Corps serving as a Radio Operator-gunner on B-17 bombers. After completing four years of education at the University of Tulsa, Bob received his Bachelor’s degree in Social Services. Bob also attended Tulane University of Social Work in New Orleans, LA; but did not complete his graduate degree. From 1951 to 1966 Bob worked for Tulsa County Juvenile Court. Later he worked for the Oklahoma Department of Social Services for several years. In 1972 Bob began working at Muskogee VA Medical Center as a social worker until retiring after 22 years. Bob was very proud of the fact he worked for city, state and the federal government throughout his life. He married Mary Ann (Ball) Holland in 1990 and they lived happily in Muskogee together. Bob is survived by his spouse, Mary Ann, his sister, Julia Ann Payne (John) of Hideaway, Texas. His three daughters from his first marriage to Lois Ruth Ferguson Taylor: Linda Brydges (John) Okmulgee, OK, Julie Arutunoff (Chris) Tulsa, OK, Susan Edwards (Eric) Tulsa, OK. Two grandchildren, Jessie Kate Brydges (Josh Hunt) Okmulgee, Christopher Michael Brydges, Austin, TX one great granddaughter, Elise Hunt of Tulsa, step daughter, Whitney Anderson (Dan) of Los Angeles, CA. Bob was loved by all and will be truly missed by his many friends and loving family members, He had wonderful memories of his life on the farm in Pawhuska and enjoyed sharing these stories with us. He was a very genuine, loving person with a special sense of humor. His vegetable and flower gardens were true examples of his ability to grow about anything. You could often see him working out in his yard or on one of his mowers enjoying being outside. His kindness and caring nature will live on in all the people whose lives he touched. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 30, 2015 at The VA Muskogee Chapel in Muskogee, OK.
