Robert "Bob" Carl Kenney's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Carl Kenney, 71 of Tulsa passed away November 12, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital. Bob was born to H. Carl and Lucille Kenney on April 25, 1946 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Bob is preceded in passing by his parents, H. Carl and Lucille Katherine Kenney. Bob graduated from Edison High School in Tulsa in 1964. Post graduation, Bob attended the University of Oklahoma where he would become a lifelong Sooners fan. After college, Bob found his calling from a professional standpoint, the insurance industry, beginning his career with the Leslie Insurance Agency where he later became a partner. In 1989, Bob and his partners Larry Halve and Bob Mathis joined CFR Insurance Agency, where he would spend the balance of his professional life. During his career, Bob’s achievements included active involvement in and oversight over the Oklahoma Home Builders’ Association. As much as he loved the office, Bob’s true loves were sports and the outdoors. Bob’s hobbies included; snow skiing, basketball, football, baseball, motorcycling, and his beloved golf which took him across the country and to the shores of Scotland. Bob not only played and enjoyed sports, but was a coach and mentor to all who wished to learn. For over 40 years, Bob was a member of the Tulsa Country Club, a place where he played and enjoyed golf and where he was affectionately known simply as “Bobby.” Until his death, Bob sought to make one more birdie and the ever elusive “hole in one.” Bob is survived by his sister, Alice Kenney; nephew, Erik Black, his wife Deborah and their children, Iain, Eden, Aaron and Eve; step-son Billy DeArman, his wife Ashley and their son William; Emily Edwards and numerous other family members and friends.Services are pending
