Robert Paul Davis' Obituary
Early in the morning, just before dawn of November 1, 2014, Robert “Bob” Paul Davis passed away gazing at his wife of 61 years. Bob was born on July 23, 1932 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to Jacob Herman “Herm” Davis and Margaret Elizabeth (Eckerman) Davis. Having joined the U.S. Army right out of high school, Bob retired after 20 years. His travels with the Army took him overseas to Korea, Japan, Germany, Thailand and Viet Nam. His U.S. stations included Fort Ord, California and Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. He retired in San Jose, California and lived there until 2012, when he moved to Tulsa to be near his eldest daughter and her family.Bob married the love of his life, Yasuko Nakamura on October 13, 1953, while stationed in Japan. An ardent fan of his sports teams, the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers and the Golden State Warriors, he could spend hours enjoying listening to their games, even after moving to Tulsa. He also was a metal artist, with his pieces adorning his home, and an avid reader, especially those of his favorite writer, Max Brand.Having had a very wry sense of humor, Bob will be buried with his t-shirt that says “Really, really ridiculously good looking” and his favorite watch that will beep at exactly 6:24 p.m. every day.Bob is survived by his wife, Yasuko, his two daughters, Donnie Suter-Levin (Itzik Levin) and Diane Nadeau (Joseph), all of Tulsa, his granddaughter Heather Suter-McArter (Joe McArter), of Broken Arrow, bonus grandson, Yishai Levin (Daniela Vida) of Yavneh, Israel, great-grandson, Dakota Suter of Broken Arrow and bonus great-grandchildren, Leia, Shelley and Emma Levin of Yavneh, Israel, Breeya McArter (fiancé Cody Doyle) of Broken Arrow and Zane McArter of Norman and bonus great, great grandchildren, Joshua and Karyssah Doyle and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Elizabeth Jane Colgan (William) and Patricia Ann Caldwell (William).Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow on Thursday, November 6 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Viewing will be held the day before. Because Bob was so proud of being a part of the United States Army, he will be buried at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Donations, instead of flowers, may be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
