Robert "Bob" Dellegar's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Dellegar was born on June 20, 1948, in Hempstead, New York, to Harry and Helen Dellegar, and passed away on January 24, 2026.
He lived life with humor, curiosity, and a mischievous spark that never faded. On April 29, 1978, Bob married the love of his life, Anne Hicks, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A natural prankster—ornery in the most endearing way—Bob took great joy in making Anne laugh. Their life together was filled with warmth, laughter, and shared adventures. Bob was immensely proud of his son and absolutely adored his granddaughter, who brought him endless happiness.
An avid lover of bowling, boats, and airplanes, Bob could often be found enjoying The Price Is Right or planning his next trip. RV travel with Anne was one of his greatest joys. He proudly served as a decorated police officer for many years, earning the respect of colleagues and the community alike.
After retiring, he went on to work as a security guard at the University of Tulsa during the same years his son attended college. He was also famously known for his love of a good bargain. Whether negotiating prices or charming his way into an occasional free meal, he treated haggling as both an art form and a sport. Bob will be remembered for his sharp wit, loving heart, and the laughter he brought into every room. He leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to bring smiles to all who knew and loved him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Larry Dellegar.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Dellegar; his son, Shawn Dellegar, and wife Keli; his granddaughter, Meredith Dellegar; his brother, Jack Dellegar, and wife Ellen; nephews Jonathan Dellegar, Kevin Dellegar, and Matthew Dellegar; his sister‑in‑law, Catherine Dellegar; and numerous friends and loved ones.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
