Robert Wesley Dixon (Bob), 79 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on June 10th, 2024. Bob was born on July 6th, 1944, in Sperry Oklahoma. Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vera; his siblings MaryAnn Moseby and Charls D Read Obituary
I remember one time we went fishing below Keystone Dam and Uncle Bob had brought this big huge rod and reel that was called a Mickey Mouse and I was bored the fish weren't biting and all the sudden Uncle Bob is walking up and down the bank and just pulling on this rod and reel and fighting and fighting with a fish a big fish it took him 30 minutes at least to bring this fish into Shore and he was so excited to catch a striper because that's what you fish for under the dam and when he finally pulled it in it was a spoonbill catfish which were endangered at the time and he had to let it go and that was the first spoonbilled catfish I had ever seen it was magnificent and for a short time on that long boring Rocky fishing trip things were exciting
Uncle Bob is always nearby eminent we are at work always interested in my life and what was going on they weren't ever judgmental even though I was slower than everybody else on figuring my life out they were always positive and uplifting for me and he always called me on our shared birthday
Back in the early 90's, my wife Karen and I went to a steak house with Bob and Vera on New Year's Eve. There was a large gathering waiting for a table so Bob told them to add Dixon to the list. The hostess immediately told Bob his table was ready and seated us for dinner. We promptly enjoyed our meal and socializing on another Dixon's reservation. Fond memories. Bob will always have a reserved table in my memories. Rest in peace my brother.
