Robert William Eddingfield's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert William Eddingfield, affectionately known as "Bob" by those closest to him. Bob was born in Coody's Bluff: Nowata, Oklahoma on November 20, 1937, and departed this world from Sapulpa, Oklahoma on May 14, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born to Harvey William and Ione Oletha (Sisk) Eddingfield. He attended Webster High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was a member of the Wrestling and Football teams, was a Golden Glove Boxer, and somehow became a hard-core OU Sooner fan.
Bob was a member of the RLDS, now Community of Christ Church. He met the love of his life, Clorece Walker at Pennington’s Drive Inn. He took her hand in marriage on May 18, 1957. Bob and Clorece were members of the Northeastern Square Dance Association and spent many Friday evenings dousi’ dou’ing (dosey-doeing) together. To this union, they had three daughters, Debbie, Susie, and Teresa. Bob and Clorece shared a very special relationship and were together for 47 years.
Bob had a strong work ethic. He worked at Pepsi-Cola as a delivery driver, Overhead Door Company of Tulsa as a salesman, and later opened his own Overhead Door business. He worked hard to support his family and to see that they had yearly vacations to build many memories together, before retiring and becoming a full-time Papa.
Bob was constantly surrounded by his three daughters, two granddaughters, then finally, - four grandsons. For Papa, yearly trips to the lake for camping, fishing, swimming, and weekend OU Football games were an absolute must. When relaxing at home, there was always a grandchild perched on his lap or following him wherever he would go. Bob will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Clorece Eddingfield. He is survived by his daughters and his sons-in-law: Debbie & Chuck Green of Sapulpa, Susie & Steve Bullock of Glenpool, Teresa & Todd Wood of Sapulpa, Six Grandchildren: Sarah & Paul Shelden of Sapulpa, Leah & John Sukovaty of Broken Arrow, Joshua & Ashley Bullock of Tulsa, Bobby Wood of Indiana, David Wood of Sapulpa, Jordan and Jasmine Bullock of Okmulgee, and Seven great grandchildren: Emily Shelden, Abigayle Shelden, Chloe Wood, Serenity Sukovaty, Reese Bullock, Ryn Bullock and Ryan Stegeman.
Many state that Bob was larger than life, but to his grandchildren he was one of the gang... and to his great grandchildren, he was and will always be - Big Papa.
