Robert Elmo Blevins' Obituary
Robert Elmo Blevins, a resident of Tulsa, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the age of 95. He was born August 15, 1921 to James and Ethel Rose (Hughes) Blevins in Jenny Lind, Arkansas. On March 11, 1943, he married the love of his life, Etau Martha Horn. He served in the United States Army, as 1st Lieutenant during WWII. He was in the 5th Army, 3rd Division, 7th Regiment, Company B and wounded at Anzio Beach in Italy and awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Tulsa. Robert enjoyed watching football, at which his favorite team was the Arkansas Razorbacks but his greatest hobby was spending time with his lovely wife, Martha.He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Blevins and daughter, Shirley Woodson and her husband, Joe.Survivors include his loving wife of 73 years, Martha Blevins; two children, Randall Blevins and wife, Judith and Cynthia Sing and husband, Joe; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow with Associate Pastor Erma Pregler officiating.Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army.
