Rev. Robert George Hardgrove's Obituary
Robert George “GBob” Hardgrove, 74, of Coweta, OK, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on December 20, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Robert E. and Betty Z. Hardgrove, Robert lived a life full of dedication and service.
He married Ellen “Jeannie” Crump on August 7, 1971, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Robert graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1968, Oklahoma State University in 1970, and American Welding School in 1981. His military career spanned from 1970 to 1976, where he served as a 2nd Lieutenant, Detachment Commander, and Training Officer in the Oklahoma National Guard, Oklahoma Army Reserve, and Louisiana National Guard.
Robert retired from Whirlpool Corporation in Tulsa in November 2011 and later from Northside Freewill Baptist Church in Broken Arrow after serving as Pastor for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, model trains, and restoring Model “A” cars, with his favorite being “Little Red.”
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Ellen “Jeannie” Hardgrove; daughters, Sandy Terry Sapulpa, Autumn and Jacob Morris of Bixby, and Suzanne and Gabriel Miller of Haskell; grandchildren, Trinity Terry, Isaac Terry, Jackson Morris, Josiah Morris, Alyvia Morris, Annaston Morris, Joah Miller, Jamison Miller, Jett Miller, Leah Miller, and Jarrett Miller; and brothers, Michael and Wendy Hardgrove, and Bart and Doris Hardgrove. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Betty Z. Hardgrove; sister, LeAnn Hardgrove; father-in-law, Odis Crump; mother-in-law, Ruby Crump; son-in-law, Rev. John Terry; grandson, C. Ray Morris; and brother-in-law, Lt. Col. Manning “Buddy” Crump.
Robert’s life was marked by his unwavering faith and dedication to serving his Lord and Savior.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 15th, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, at Northside Freewill Baptist Church in Broken Arrow.
